CALL TO ACTION: Raise Your Voice on Changes to DOC 328
Virtual Hearing: July 8, 2025 – 10:00 a.m.
The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is proposing a full rewrite of DOC Administrative Code 328—the rules that govern how people are supervised in the community after incarceration.
This isn’t just a policy change—it could be life-changing for thousands of people. We need your voice.
Why It Matters
Revocation is not just a rule violation—it’s a system reset.People lose jobs, housing, kids, even their freedom, often for technical rule violations—not new crimes.
We’ve seen firsthand:
• A missed check-in leading to prison. • A dirty UA, even when someone asked for help. • A travel request denied, then punished when they went anyway for a funeral or job interview.
This is what DOC 328 governs—and they’re trying to rewrite it right now.
Public Hearing: July 8 at 10:00 a.m. (Virtual)
This is your chance to speak up.We can’t afford to sit this one out.
You can: Attend the virtual hearing and share your experience. Submit written comments by August 8. Help others understand how these rules affect real lives.
What’s Changing?
The state wants to repeal and replace the entire DOC 328 code. That means every part of community supervision—from home visits to violations to revocation hearings—is on the table.
If we don’t show up, the new rules could make it easier to lock people up again, not harder.
This Impacts:
• People on probation, parole, or extended supervision • Families trying to rebuild • Kids watching parents get locked up again • Communities working hard to heal
What You Can Say
• Talk about how supervision rules impacted you or someone you love. • Call for more support, not punishment. • Ask for clearer rules, fair hearings, and real second chances. • Remind them that technical violations shouldn’t cost someone everything.
How to Submit Comments or Join the Hearing
EXPO will help guide you through the process. You don’t have to do it alone.Let’s make sure our voices are on the record.
Because no one should be sent back to prison just for struggling while trying to do better.
