Elmer Golon has made Racine Wisconsin his home for the past 16 years. A graduate of UW-Parkside and an MBA scholar in marketing and data analytics, he works with various internet technologies through his web hosting and development business. He uses his passion for technology to serve underrepresented and marginalized communities. Elmer is no stranger to adversity, born into the civil war of Guatemala, raised as an immigrant in California, and a combat veteran of the U.S. Army, it is no surprise that he brings the energy of these experiences to EXPO after being a first hand witness to the criminal justice system. He serves as EXPO’s data fellow and works on organizing the collection and disbursement of data for the advancement of rights for currently and formerly incarcerated people in collaboration with WISDOM, WISCONSIN VOICES, and UW System action researchers. When away from his office he’ll often be with his children or engaging in culture, art, or fitness activities.
