focused on the unique issues of women who have experienced incarceration

Our Story

Led by people who are directly impacted, EXPO (Ex-Incarcerated People Organizing) is committed to dismantling all systems that support mass incarceration and excessive supervision. EXPO exists so that people with shared experiences of incarceration are able to build collective power to change the climate of incarceration in Wisconsin.

Since then, EXPO has developed networks of directly impacted women from around the state, with particularly strong chapters in Eau Claire and Milwaukee. We are meeting today in order to start to build relationships and build power in Wisconsin, to link up with other chapters on statewide issues, and to make sure that the issues that are specific to directly impacted women in Wisconsin are addressed.
